Sea of Thieves - Ashen Lords

Here you can see a great example of teamwork back in the Bon Art days. I was responsible for breaking-down the work for these guys between me and a few other artists. It is not uncommon at all to see work on characters being split, and these two were exemplary tasks of how both time-saving, optimization and onboarding can be done while quality and schedules are kept in-tact. Honestly, I can't remember exactly how we split these and what i did on them, but what I can say is that I am proud of our work and thankful to have had the chance to collaborate with all the amazing artist working on them.

Check-out Nikola's other work. We both worked on these two guys at different points in time.
And special thanks to Maggie for her work on the textures.

Old Horatio and The Herald of the Flame. Massive props to the Marketing Team at Rare for allowing me to use the sweetest-ever rendering of Old Horatio. I hope I managed to match the taste and feel of it with my own Herald render beside it.

I had the opportunity to develop a severely bulked-up version of the base skeleton we used for this one. It was nice to develop a workflow which was later deployed for all the other Ashen Lords.

We had to stay true to Stitcher Jim's original appearance as this was the final form in which players can encounter him in.

And here's the whole Ashen Lord Gang. Absolute kudos to the rest of the Team for sculpting and making these scary monsters! And again - thanks to the Marketing Team at Rare for providing me with this burning-hot image.

Peak Horatio moment right here!

The states through which this character went are all marvelous to look at. And while ours is not shown here, it's a great reference to look at when comparing him with his Ashen Lord final form.
